The design and materials of the birthing pool

Birth Pool in a Box Regular is a birthing pool for personal use that we deliver to you together with a hygienic disposable liner. The pool is made of environmentally friendly material (0.38 mm eco-PVC without cadmium, lead and latex) and complies with EU regulations on maximum levels of phthalates.

The Birth pool in a Box has two sets of handles at the top that are perfectly positioned to help you control your movements during labor. The pool is designed without internal handles to facilitate your mobility. The oval shape is perfectly adapted to the work. The opaque outer walls of the pool optimize the sense of privacy that is so important to those giving birth during ongoing labor. The pool also has an integrated cup holder to facilitate hydration during your labor, as well as an internal seat that you can use during labor to adopt alternative positions and movements. The seat is also perfect to sit on after giving birth while you bond with your newborn baby.

How do I use the birthing pool?

It takes 10-15 minutes to inflate the pool using an electric pump. The air pump is optional as you may already have one. Fill the pool with an unused water hose (to ensure complete hygiene) which you connect to the faucet with a hose connector. Both the Essential kit and the Complete kit for water birth include a 10-meter non-toxic water hose. The filling time varies greatly depending on the water availability. It can take as little as 30 minutes from a high pressure combi boiler or longer from a small tank if it needs to be reheated. ClearFit Heat Cover (optional) can help maintain water temperature and avoid excessive condensation in the room.
