Who is renting a birth pool suitable for?

Renting a birth pool is an option whether you plan to give birth at a hospital or at home. A birth pool is an excellent tool during the latent phase, the early stage of labor when you are generally still at home, and where many find great comfort in bathing. Maybe you don’t have a bathtub, or perhaps you want to optimize the comfort provided by a birth pool—its soft edges and depth allow you to float, making a big difference. Some maternity wards also allow you to bring your own birth pool to the hospital. Ask your chosen maternity unit about their policies.

For those planning a home birth, a birth pool can provide relaxation and pain relief, offering a great sense of security since medical pain relief is not available. Research also shows that warm water provides several benefits from this perspective.

When will the birth pool be delivered?

We will ship the birth pool along with all accessories to a pickup location near you during week 36 of your pregnancy, allowing you plenty of time to unpack, test the inflation, and find the best spot to place it. If you order at the last minute, you can expect a delivery time of 3-7 business days.

How do I return the rented birth pool?

You can keep the birth pool until your baby is born or until week 42 of pregnancy (after this, water birth is no longer recommended). If your baby is born in week 42, you will naturally have a few extra days before returning the pool.

Important: The pool must be clean and dry before being packed up. A 500 SEK fee will be charged if the pool is returned wet or dirty.

All single-use items in the water birth kit can be kept for personal use or disposed of, as we do not rent out these items again. The included instructions (also available online) will guide you on how to pack up the pool easily.

How to return the birth pool:

  1. Pack the clean and dry birth pool into the provided backpack along with the starter kit (air pump and tap connectors in the plastic box).
  2. Place the backpack inside the box that the pool was delivered in.
  3. Secure the box properly with extra tape and attach the return shipping label.
  4. Drop off the package at your nearest pickup location.
